Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation "KAHRAMAA" organized a business forum to present KAHRAMAA's new projects business case, especially phase VIII projects to the Japanese and South Korean companies.
The business forum was attended by several leader and reputable Japanese and S.Korean companies who are interested in expanding their business relations with KAHRAMAA, and also attracted new contractors and manufacturers companies who were too much interested in KAHRAMAA projects in the field of electricity, especially the phase VIII of electricity network expansion in Qatar.
Engineer Ahmed Abdulla Al-Abdulla, Technical Affairs Director said, "Tokyo visit has been a good opportunity for KAHRAMAA to introduce its new electricity projects and to increase the awareness level of interested companies about the business opportunities exist with KAHRAMAA. The companies representatives we met they were from different business background and specialties; such as electricity networks, sub-stations, ground cables and overhead lines which KAHRAMAA intends to execute within Phase Eight Project."
"As you are aware the phase VIII projects include the construction of 33 new substations in addition to ground lines and overhead lines that enable KAHRAMAA to evacuate generated power from Ras Laffan plant to meet bulk customers needs in the coming years." Eng. Al-Abdulla said.
Engineer Al-Abdulla emphasized: " We, at "KAHRAMAA", are looking to have wider participation form international and specialized contracting companies. The phase VIII projects have been introduced to a group of S. Korean and Japanese companies and the attendees level reflect their interest, as we have met with more than 44 general managers and executive officers."
The business forum started with a general presentation in an open session about KAHRAMAA projects and contracting policy and procedures, after the open session, KAHRAMAA team met in a business marathon day with the pre-registered list of interested companies bilaterally.
The bilateral meetings were more detailed, and they were a place to answer the companies' queries and provide them with further information in order to attract them of being part of the execution of such giant projects.
From his end, Engineer Nasser Ali Al Mohannadi – Public Relations Manager expressed his appreciation to the dedicated work and efforts for the arrangements and coordination have been done by the team of Qatar Embassy in Tokyo chaired by H.E. the Ambassador Mr. Riyadh Ali Al Ansari, Mr. Khalid Al Baker– the Plenipotentiary Ambassador and Mr. Saad AL Noeimi the First Secretary at the Embassy; which made it one of the successful and fruitful business trip.
