KAHRAMAA Hold A Press Conference To Present Its Largest Budget in 2007
 

          Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation "KAHRAMAA" held a press conference, on Thursday 25 January 2007, at Intercontinental Hotel attended by several directors of the departments concerned to present the corporation's total budget 2007 as one of the most largest and important budget approved at KAHRAMAA since its incorporation. 

The conference discussed the general budget Kahramaa has dedicated for its future projects which include construction of several electricity networks and water stations throughout the country. The display included a brief account of total expenditure in 2007 in addition to the operational expenditure and cost to purchase electricity and water from the independent production companies.

The budget allocated by the corporation is considered the ever highest budget in KAHRAMAA history. Its volume has reached QR.12.599 billion for the first time and distributed to four main chapters; It is a budget dedicated to the electricity infrastructure projects in addition to the electricity network development project against a total value QR.7.565 billion and for the water infrastructure projects in addition to the water network development project has reached QR.1.331 billion, and operational budget for QR.582 million where as the budget allocated to purchase electricity and water from private generation companies has been QR.3.078 billion (QR.2 billion for electricity and the rest for water).

The largest budget presented in the press conference proves the importance of the strategic planning adopted by KAHRAMAA as regards improving and developing its networks while maintaining the highest level of quality and proficiency in providing all customers with the best services.

It is also an indicator to the importance of  the role KAHRAMAA is playing in the urban and economical growth and development which the country is witnessing in various economic, architectural and industrial spheres so as to match plans set out by the corporation to cope with such growth and save necessary power and water during the coming period. 

Engineer Nasser Al Mohannadi, Manager of Public Relations has delivered a welcoming speech through which he displayed the importance of such event at KAHRAMAA level, referring to the efforts paid by KAHRAMAA staff to secure the most advanced level of electricity and water services provided for all customers.

Then, Mr. Yacoub Al Harami, Manager of the Finance Department, presented the 2007 general budget wherein he has given a detailed explanation of the 2007 general budget compared with the previous years.

Engineer Khalid Al Mansouri,  Director of Water Networks Affairs (WNA) who produced a comprehensive display of water networks development projects.

Then Engineer Ahmed Al Abdulla, Director of Technical Affairs presented a display of the infrastructure development projects of electricity and water.

The Engineer Abdullah Al Subaie, Manager of Electricity Network Planning representing the Director of Electricity Network Affairs (ENA) who displayed the electricity networks most important development projects.

The presentation ended by Engineer Ahmed Al Mohannadi, Director of Customer Services Departments' display of customer services development projects.

At the end of the presentation several directors answered the questions raised by the journalists during conference. 

It is worth noted that the increase ratio of 2007 budget expenditure compared with 2006 expenditure has reached 71%. The total budget expenditure in 2006 was QR.7.375 billion.

KAHRAMAA records show that budget expenditure in 2005 was QR.4.133 billion, while in 2004 it was QR.3.293 billion and in 2003 it was QR.2.699 billion.

The press conference has been attended by Engineer Khalid Al Mansouri, Water Networks Director, Engineer Ahmed Al Abdulla – Technical Affairs Director Mr. Yacoub Al Harami, Manager of Finance Department at the corporation along with Engineer Abdullah Al Subaie, Manager of Electricity Network Planning representing the Director of Electricity Network Affairs (ENA), Engineer Ahmed Al Mohannadi Customer Services Manager, Engineer Nasser Al Mohannadi – Public Relations Manager, Engineer Fahad Al Kaabi Water Projects Manager, Engineer AbdulHameed Janahi Electricity Projects Manager, Engineer Ali Al Malki Operations and Maintenance Manager/ WNA, and Engineer Ibrahim Al Sada Water Network Planning.
