A Delegation of Netherlands' Water Companies at KAHRAMAA |

A delegation of Netherlands Water Company met with Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation "KAHRAMAA" at its headquarters to overview and discusses the future cooperation aspects in the field of water sector development in the State of Qatar.
The Netherlands delegation was received by Engineer Abdullah Al-Subaie A/Director of Technical Affairs (TA), Engineer Ali Saif Al-Malki, Director of Water Network Affairs (WN), Engineer Fahad Rashed Al-Kaabi, Manager of Water Projects (TE) and a number of senior engineers at TA, WN and TE departments.
The delegation comprised of 8 representatives of the largest Netherlands water companies in the presence of H.E. Mr. J. G. van Vloten Dissevelt the Amassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The meting was an opportunity for KAHRAMAA to present the improvement and development of water sector in Qatar after the foundation of Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation "KAHRAMAA", in addition to the under going projects and to the future projects, plans and budgets reserved for the development and upgrading of water sector; in order to encourage international companies including the Netherlands companies to participate in the public tenders prepared and displayed by KAHRAMAA in the near future.
During the meeting Engineer Al-Kaabi introduced the projects under tendering process, which is related to the projects new water stations in Duhail, Al-Shamal, Ras Laffan(C), development and upgrading of water pumping stations, replacement of old water mains and distribution networks and the installation of new network to evacuate the new capacity of Ras Laffan(C) and the second phase of upgrading and expansion of water network in Doha and North Qatar.
The Netherlands delegation has the opportunity to exchange their experience and success stories related to the completed and current projects carried out by Netherlands Companies in the field of water sector development, upgrading and management across the world, Netherlands with special focus on the GCC.
At the end of the meeting Engineer Al-Subaie said, "The meeting was very interesting, open and transparent; we would like to welcome the cooperation with the Netherlands companies, as a matter of fact, to benefit from their long and remarkable experience and expertise in the water sector management and development". "In the coming months, we looking forward to exchange visits and to sign a Memo of Understanding (MOU)", Al-Subaie added.
H.E. Mr. J. G. van Vloten Dissevelt the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands said: "The presentation we attend shows the mutual interest of both parties to cooperate. It is obvious; we at the Kingdom of the Netherlands have acquired experience of more than one hundred years, throughout the world and not just Netherlands, in managing water sector. He added: "We wish to extend the cooperation ties with the State of Qatar which it will be resulted with a signature of a MOU to facilitate and accelerate the cooperation level between us".
