KAHRAMAA Participates Actively in the 3rd GCC Power 2007 at Dubai

 

Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation "KAHRAMAA" has participated in the Gulf Power 2007 Conference & Exhibition 2007 held under the patronage of H.E. Mohammed Ben Ta'en Al-Hamely, Minister of Energy at the United Arab Emirates. This event was the 3rd in its type organized by the GCC High Voltage Regional Committee (GCC - CIGRE) in Dubai, UAE from 5 to 7 November, 2007.

KAHRAMAA represented and participated actively through a large delegation which comprised Engineer Ali Al-Najjar, Electricity Transmission Manager, Engineer Saad Al-Mohannadi Acting Manager of Electricity Planning, Mr.Abdulla Anbar Head of Media Section, Engineer Ali Al-Jomali Head of Electricity Networks Planning Section, in addition to other senior engineers and public relations officers.

KAHRAMAA actively participated in the conference papers, studies and researches conducted by its specialized expert engineers to introduce its experience and the lessons learnt in the power field to conference participants.

Many papers presented at the conference by KAHRAMAA delegation, the first paper was presented by Abdulrahman Ibrahim A M Al-Baker of "Interoperability Challenge: KAHRAMAA experience with Substation automation", the second paper presented jointly by Engineer Ali Al-Najjar and Eng. Chittranjan Bhatnagar of Electricity Transmission Department of "Availability, Enhancement and Capacity Increment of Transmission Lines in Qatar- Experience and Programs of KAHRAMAA". The third paper presented to the conference by Engineer Ali Al-Jomali and Eng. Hassan Ali Ahmed of  "The Environmental Effect of EHV Overhead Lines in terms of Electromagnetic Fields and Visual impact near the Inhabited Areas".

KAHRAMAA booth at the associated exhibition was very large and significant, where KAHRAMAA's Public Relations team consisted of  Mr.Hamad Faleh Al-Hajri Customer Relations Officer and Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Mahmoud Media Relations Officer had the opportunity to promote and display information about KAHRAMAA achievements, current and future projects.

Engineer Nasser Al-Sharhan, Under-Secretary for Oil Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Energy represented H.E. The Minister of Energy in the inauguration of GCC Power 2007 Conference and Exhibition on Monday 5/11/2007, that in his inauguration speech he said: "The global trend in the power services and industry is to include the private sector. The geo-political position of the GCC countries and its energy strategic reserve had better opportunity to enjoy this advantage." He highlighted on the importance of combined efforts exerted by the universities researchers and the corporations' engineers to improve and enrich the power sector's knowledge and experience".
