Under the theme  (New Challenges ….. New Ideas) the higher management at Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation "KAHRAMAA"  has held the "Higher Management Planning Forum" at one of the Doha Hotels on 19, 20/11/2006. his Excellency Issa Shahen Al Ghanem, Kahramaa Vice Chairman has inaugurated the forum attended by directors, managers and senior staff at KAHRAMAA.

At the forum inauguration H.E. Issa Shaheen Al Ghanim has delivered a speech wherein he spoke about the importance of holding the forum approved by the Higher Management at KAHRAMAA to discuss issues related to development methods at KAHRAMAA, setting forth plans sufficient to develop tasks at KAHRAMAA, discuss them at a higher level of transparency and liability.

His Excellency added, "The forum aims at evaluating the corporate performance and future vision to develop tasks within several challenges".

His Excellency Issa Al Ghanim pointed out that economy in the State of Qatar is now witnessing an expedient development phenomenon which requires an excess increase of demand of basic services out of which electricity and water services come first. He said the development average in 2005 has been 33.8% and it is expected to be in the same power rate in 2006 to reach 27.1% as shown in statistic of Qatar National Bank.

His Excellency said this constitutes a challenge to the corporation. KAHRAMAA has witnessed several challenges and achievements at different professional and administrative levels. Also, many projects have been signed to support and develop electricity and water networks. He added that customers services has also witnessed progress.

Then Engineer Youssef Ahmed Janahi, Corporate Planning & Business Development Department Manager, spoke about KAHRAMAA's strategic plans during the coming years and the development observed in levels of services it produces pointing to the expected increase in the demand on electricity and water throughout the coming years. To this Engineer Jenahi spoke about Kahramaa future project and how far they are important in the development  of KAHRAMAA tasks.

On behalf on Engineer Essa Hilal Al Kuwari Electricity Networks Affairs Director, Engineer Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al Subaie, Networks Planning Department Manager spoke about his department's future plans. He pointed to the achievements made and the challengers which Electricity Networks Affairs faces especially in the circumstances it goes through aside with unprecedented development of demand on electricity.

Then Engineer Ali Jassem Al Najjar, Electricity Transmission Department Manager followed him speaking about achievements made in the Electricity Networks Affairs and the future projects to match the development of demand on electricity. Then Engineer Abdullah Ali Al Deyab, Electricity Distribution Networks & Affairs plans and projects.

This has been followed by Engineer Abdul Hameed Janahi, Electricity Projects Manager, who spoke about the development plans at his department and methods of performance promotion he then talked about type of projects which the department is carrying out and the future development plans.

The Engineer Khalid Al Mansouri, Water Affairs Director spoke in conjunction with managers of his department Eng. Ali Sief Al Malki, Maintenance & Operation Department manager and Eng. Abdul Moneim Ahmed Darwish, Technical Services Department Manager and Engineer Ibrahim Al Sada, Water Planning Department Manager who talked about plans of the Water Networks Affairs for the next five years together with progress and development in addition to the increase in demand on water it is witnessing, the development continues programs to promote performance means among which is the installation of electronic meters at areas. Then Engineer Mohammed Ahmed Bakhamis talked about the quality of water which KAHRAMAA distributes among its customers. He pointed out that such water fully complies with international, regional and local health measurements.

Engineer Fahed Al Kaabi, Water Projects Department Manager, talked about the most important projects, development plans and performance efficiency increasing at his department in addition to the future plans at Water Projects Department.

At the start of the next day meetings Engineer Ahmed Ali Al Mohannadi, Customers Services Department Manager, talked about development of the Customers Services Department's tasks through programs set forth, activation of plans, performance development and opening more Customers Services centers to reach customers at their places to produce them service, facilitate means and procedures of service connection to new customers in addition to electronic meters reading. He talked about his department's plans to preserve and rationalize electricity and water consumption.

Then Engineer Nasser Ali Al Mohannadi, Public Relations Manager talked about his departments' action plan for the years 2007-210. he first pointed out to his department's tasks focus on facilitating and achievement of KAHRAMAA goals and policies, reflection of a distinguished portrait of KAHRAMAA to customers in addition to availing the media data and information. He revealed his department's plan to develop performance enumerating activities carried out within KAHRAMAA departments which should be covered through media.

Engineer Abdulatif Al Mana, Human Resources Manager talked about his department's plans and the challenges it faces. He referred to using techniques to update and develop work especially the corporate resources planning projects, getting staff standard improved and trained, Qatarization plan in progress to attract Qatari manpower, especially Qatari Engineer Achieved through immediate recruitment program in coordination with Qatar University. He pointed out that expansion plan of posts Qatarization is progressing as planned after the improvement made in posts categories in KAHRAMAA.

Then Engineer Jassim Al theyab, General Services Manager, talked about has plan to develop the General Services Department and the challenges it faces.

Mr. Mansour Al Yammi, Materials Department Manager, talked about his department's plan for the years 2007-2010 wherein he referred to a plan's approval to execute purchases at KAHRAMAA with the least costs explaining his department's strategies in this regards.

Then Dr. Mohamed Yacoub Al Sulaiti, Health, Safety & Environment Department Manager talked about his department's plan for the years 2007-2009. He stated that the focal point of the department talks is to provide customers with healthy water as one of the main goals of KAHRAMAA referring to the fact that goals and mission of his department is to avail a healthy atmosphere which is suitable for work at KAHRAMAA. Also, there are plans and programs to develop work within the department beside programs to manager hazardous wastes and risks.

The Dr. Sheikha Al Jaber, Information Technology Department Manager, referred to goals, plans and strategies of the Information Technology Department to promote and develop transferring Kahramaa to be an electronic corporation and such plans are in progress as planned.

Then Mr. Yacoub Al Harami, Finance Department Manager, talked about his department's future plans. He stated that financial operations are carried out as per planned program and that there is a remarkable increase in KAHRAMAA return.

Engineer Youssef Janahi, Corporate Planning and Business Development Department Manager, talked about his department's plan for the coming years (2007-2011). He pointed to the many challenges which KAHRAMAA is facing with respect to the increase in demand on electricity and water along with the economic and architectural huge development which the country is now facing. He also talked about setting out an integral administrative plan setting out to improve and develop performance at KAHRAMAA's department.

Then Mr. Harith Al Kutubi, talked on behalf of the Legal & Contracts Services Department, dealing with the department's plan for the coming year 2007. He talked about work progress and performance promotion indicating that his department aims at preserving KAHRAMAA's properties against any damage and provide KAHRAMAA departments with legal advice when contracting.

Then Mr. Eddy Lim, Internal Audit & Quality Department Manager, presented his department's plans for the coming years and the new projects.

Discussion has been initiated on the department's total plans and their  future projects dealt with during the meeting along with the appropriate vision to execute such plans on actual basis especially that theme of this year's meeting is (New Challenges ... New Ideas).

At the end of the Higher Management Planning Forum Sessions, His Excellency Issa Shaheen Al Ghanim, the Vice Chairman expressed the directors and managers at KAHRAMAA his appreciation for their efforts to let KAHRAMAA's plans at success. He also praised the higher standard of the discussion during the Forum Sessions.
