Kahramaa Honors Its Engineers Participating in "GCC Power 2005" Conference

 

Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation "Kahramaa" honored an elite group of engineers who participated in "GCC Power 2005" Conference, recently organized by the GCC Regional Chapter of International Council on Large Electric System (Gulf - Cigre) in Doha.

The honoring party organized at "Kahramaa's" administrative tower in Dafna, on Monday 13/02/2006 and attended by H.E. Issa Shaheen AL Ghanim, Vice Chairman and Engineer Issa Hilal Al Kuwari,  Director, Electricity Network Affairs and Qatar representative in "GCC Cigre" Board of Directors.

The celebration party includes an inaugural speech delivered by Engineer Nasser Ali Al Mohannadi, Manager of Public Relations Department, wherein he referred to the importance of scientific research to develop electricity services sector.

The honoring comprised Engineer Ahmed AL Abdullah, Director of Technical Affairs, Engineer Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al Subai, Manger of Electricity Planning Department, Engineer Ali Jassim Al Najjaar, Manager of Electricity Transmission Department, Engineer Saad Ibrahim Al Mohannadi, Control Section Head and Engineer Nahar Al Mottawaa Head of Operations and Maintenance, together with Engineers  Mohamed Naguib Emarah, Abdul Aziz Al Khalifa, Mohamed Sayed Ahmed and Naveen Rajo beside Public Relations Staff who contributed in the success of "Kahramaa's" participation in the "GCC Power 2005"conference and exhibition.

This honoring came to be an appreciation of the individual efforts paid by senior Engineers at Kahramaa with respect to "GCC Power 2005" Conference researches; which led the working paper presented by Engineer Ahmed Al Abdullah in the second day of the conference namely "Engineering and Aesthetic Design of Transmission Substations for Modern Cities with High Load Density" to be awarded the first prize of the conference. 

In his paper, Engineer Al Abdullah has dealt with electricity transmission stations engineering and design from the architectural point of view, giving them an aesthetic impact to cope with the surrounding buildings. To overcome the industrial impact of this stations, three wining designs under and above ground level stations are displayed. It is decided to construct nine stations with three different shapes, which is considered among the best designs in the world.

Engineer Ahmed Al Abdullah explained in his paper stages of the project preparations, stations design competition and awarding in a short period.

Besides, Engineer Issa Helal Al Kuwari, Director, Electricity Network Affairs and Engineer Abdullah Abdul Azizi Al Subai, Manager, Electricity Networks Planning Department, are members of working papers Arbitration Committee at "GCC Power 2005" Conference.

in this occasion, H. E. Issa Shaheen Al Ghanim, the Vice Chairman said:" The corporation has repeatedly encouraged such scientific meetings and conference as it benefits out such researches. Also "Kahramaa"  engineers find them as a good opportunity to publish and discuss their researches at Gulf Cigre Conference Level".

H.E. Al Ghanim added: "Kahramaa has availed Gulf Cigre conference and similar conferences all support due to the fact that such conference helps to promote and develop skills. This is one of "Kahramaa's" objectives to develop human resources. The outcomes of such professional and scientific gatherings are satisfactory and promising".
