Kahramaa Hosts Students' Group of Texas University
 

Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation " Kahramaa" hosted  on Wednesday 08/02/2006 , a group of Texas University Students in a first experiment  of its kind in the State of Qatar in order to create a sort of partnership among national institutes, higher educational institutes and universities throughout the country aiming at serving the society.

Eng. Nasser Ali Al Mohannadi, Manager Public Relations, welcomed the visiting delegation beside a group of senior staff.
In his speech Eng. Al-Mohannadi;   praised the cooperation program between Kahramaa and Texas University. He assured that such program would create an opportunity to connect the society's civil institutes with Kahramaa. It would also help to assert the role played by Kahramaa to serve the society and establish a joint partnership between national institutes and the higher educational institutes all over the country. 

The program includes a visit to the National Control Centre (NCC), Customers Services Department and Central Water Laboratory to get acquainted with the methods of the Laboratory's operation and the technique used  of collecting water samples to confirm complying  with health conditions. The visit also includes number of primary and secondary power substations to witness electricity distribution to different areas of the country.

Concerning such visit, H.E. Issa Shaheen Al Ghanim, The Vice Chairman, said "it is a good initiative from Texas University. We, on our end, encourage such initiatives as they create a sort of connection between Kahramaa and the higher educational institutes throughout the country. This, in fact is one of Kahramaa's main objectives so as to create career opportunities for the students. It is also a social service project and a good opportunity for us to introduce various activities of Kahramaa to such important sector. We hope they would benefit out of this tour in their study. Kahramaa may be their objective in the  future to join after graduation". 

His Excellency added; We encourage such initiatives made by the higher educational institutes to create a sort of partnership as we are trying to attract such sectors at the society.
