A delegation from Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA) consisted of Dr. Mohamed Kurdab and Dr. Salah Abdul Raof Qandeel concluded his visit to Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation "Kahramaa". The visit was extended for ten days to the last week week of April 2006.

The ESCWA delegation held meetings with Kahramaa's officials to discuss issues relating to the initial analysis of demand forecasts with respect to power as well as the means of promoting and developing electricity and water sector in Qatar.

A meeting was held with Customer Services Department and its sections to be acquainted with work plans and programs within this department.

The delegation also visits a number of generation and desalination plants to get an idea about the updates made on this regard.

It is worth noted that Kahramaa has previously participated in several activities carried out by ESCWA. In addition, its representatives have participated in conferences and seminars held by the ESCWA to present the progress achieved in both electricity and water sectors in Qatar.
