| Kahramaa Participated on Fire Prevention Symposium |

Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation [Kahramaa] participated on Fire Prevention Symposium, that held under the patronage of HH. Sheikh Tamem Bin Hamad Al-Thani - The Heir Apparent, organized by Ministry of Interior – Public Relations in collaboration with Kahramaa, Civil Defense, Qatar Standards Authority, Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Municipality of Doha, at Regency Hall on Monday 25/04/2005. The symposium held in accordance with Kahramaa social roles' and in line with safety regulations applied within Kahramaa practices,
H.E. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Thani, State Minister of Interior and H.E. Mr. Issa Shaheen Al Ghanim attended the opening of the symposium.
Eng. Hassan Gouma Al-Mohannadi, of Electricity Networks Affairs and Eng. Mohamed Al-Mula of Customer Services Department represented Kahramaa on the symposium.
Eng. Hassan Al-Mohannadi emphasized in his presentation on the impact of the misuse of the electricity devices and installations and the use of electrical tools and products not complying with Kahramaa applied standards; which caused fire. He explained the necessary preventive steps should be taken by the customers to stop fire caused by electricity accident. Eng. Al Mohannadi pointed out that, customers should inform Customers Services Department (CSD) in case of the need of new load at their premises such as new air conditioning units, building new rooms. He called the customers to do regular check up for electricity installations and to be aware about the danger of children playing in electricity. He added that the basic responsibilities are on importer, contractor as well as the customer to comply with standards and specifications determined by Kahramaa for electricity materials and to make regular maintenance on the internal installations. At the end of his presentation Eng. Al-Mohannadi presented tips on how to avoid fire caused by electricity.
